On March 19, 2020, the State posted Merced County’s Attestation Form on their website which indicates that Merced County meets the readiness criteria to reopen additional Stage 2 business sectors.
As Merced County prepares to move into Stage 2.5 of the statewide roadmap to reopening, it is important that everyone, including businesses and community members, are intentional about taking the necessary safety precautions to minimize the spread of COVID-19.
Failing to do so may cause transmission levels to rise.
In addition to adhering to the safety measures put in place by the businesses in Merced County, local health officials, strongly urges everyone to continue following the guidance provided by local health orders and practice the following safety measures when out supporting a business in our community:
Wear a cloth face covering when you leave your home; especially when social distancing is not possible, in enclosed places.
Practice social distancing, which means keeping at least 6 feet between you and any person, for example, when walking in shopping aisle or standing in line.
Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth with unwashed hands.
Wash your hands often with soap and warm water for at least 20 seconds as often as possible.
Use hand sanitizer (with 60% alcohol or higher), if you’re unable to properly wash your hands.
If you’re sick or experiencing symptoms of COVID-19, stay home and call your medical provider (if you need medical attention).
